 BC ASSOCIATION OF ABATTOIRS ELECTS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Vancouver, BC – The BC Association of Abattoirs elected its 2014-15 Board of Directors at its Annual General Meeting on April 11, 2014 at the stately South Thompson Inn in Kamloops. The community-based Board will guide its membership through the launch of a variety of high profile programs aimed at increasing demand and access for BC meats in British Columbia markets. These programs will educate consumers and raise awareness about the benefits of buying local BC meat products and link consumers to local farms, restaurants and grocers that sell and serve these meats. The first of these programs was launched this week, www.bcbeefnet.ca, which helps chefs buy local 100% BC Beef online.

The Board of Directors are:

  • Mike Noullet – Kawano Farms – Prince George, President
  • Dave Fernie – Rodear Meats – Beaver Valley
  • Richard Yntema – Valley Wide Meats – Enderby
  • Bonnie Windsor – Johnston’s – Chilliwack, Vice-President
  • Ken Falk – Fraser Valley Specialty Poultry – Yarrow
  • Jacques Campbell – Campbell Farm – Saturna Island
